“Working with Cyn was such a wonderful experience! After moving into our new apartment, we knew we wanted some pictures to accent our living room, but we knew little else. Cyn not only has an immense catalogue of photographs, but also has a great diversity of subject matter. Exploring her library of images helped us to begin envisioning an end-product of grouped prints.
While we had a vague idea at this point, it was Cyn’s listening, creative input, and thoughtful support that helped us convert that idea into a beautiful reality. Her ability to recommend pairing pictures we liked with others we had not even considered resulted in an incredible, unique arrangement that we would NEVER have achieved without her professional eye. Even better is the fact that our pictures coordinate with our décor and also represent the beauty in our most valued aspects of life. "I'm a musician and I worked with Cyn in May for a photoshoot in her native borough of Brooklyn. As I prepped a new EP, I really wanted to cement my visual identity with photos that captured my essence but also stood out and could be used in different promotional ways. Cyn expertly and slyly did that -- her camera and film choice, and her calm, agile style were constant points of reassurance as she shot me in different locations, keeping me comfortable and looking candid. I was really impressed by her location scouting, which ranged from Brooklyn Bridge park's verdant lawns to a secret, Sunkist courtyard at a dollar slice shop, with a ferry ride in between. I've kept up with Cyn's photography over the years and her mastery lies partially in the stillness and abundance she is able to capture in her shots, like the purple silhouette of a palm tree in Aruba, simple scenes, yet ones in which you can feel the sunset's dying humidity. Her slice of life shots around California and NY continue in this tradition, distilling frames of everyday life with a particular appreciation for capturing the full radiance of warm portraits and landscapes.
